Joe Biden remains in Washington, DC, to personally monitor the emergency situation created by Hurricane Milton's arrival in Florida
The summit on Ukraine scheduled for Saturday, October 12 at the US military base in Ramstein, Germany, has been called off. This was reported by a Pentagon spokesman, who said that “the meeting of leaders of countries supporting Ukraine will take place at a later date.”
The criticized summit, during which the US, with the support of some European countries, could have given Ukraine the green light to use Western long-range weapons to strike targets deep inside Russia, was canceled at the last minute “due to a change of plan decided by US President Joe Biden due to the emergency situation created by the arrival of Hurricane Milton in Florida.”
The summit envisioned the participation of 50 nations, including Italy, which, however, was sensationally excluded from a private meeting, a kind of pre-summit, between the USA, Germany, France, and Britain. “I’m very sorry that before the Ukrainian summit in Ramstein there will be a meeting of the USA, Germany, France, and the UK without Italy. The meeting in the White House of the European G7 countries without Italy (which is also the G7 president this year, although many did not notice it) is a serious mistake of Italian diplomacy,” Matteo Renzi, leader of Italia viva, wrote in his Enews. “I suggest that President Meloni call and get an invitation to this event that we may not be called to because of our wavering foreign policy stance. Dear Georgia, you are the president of the G7: spend less time looking for moles in the WhatsApp chats of the Brothers of Italy and do your job without isolating Italy,” Renzi finally emphasized.
