Death Toll in Gaza Approaches 39 Thousand

The tragic death toll from Israel’s attacks on Gaza will reach 39,000.

Recent attacks on the Gaza Strip have killed 37 Palestinians, bringing the total death toll to 38,919 since October 7, when a surprise Hamas attack triggered an endless Israeli response. This was reported by the Turkish Anadolu Agency, citing the Palestinian Ministry of Health, and indicated that 89,622 people were affected.

“Many people still remain under the rubble and on the roads because rescuers cannot reach them,” the ministry added. All this despite the UN Security Council resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire. Nine months after the fighting began, large parts of Gaza have been completely destroyed, and the population is suffering from “a paralyzing blockade of food, drinking water, and medicine.” Israel is accused of genocide by the International Court of Justice, whose latest ruling ordered Tel Aviv to immediately halt military operations in the southern city of Rafah, where more than a million Palestinians sought refuge from war before being captured on May 6.” Anadolu also writes.
