The Eurostat express assessment for the second quarter of 2023 records an increase in the gross domestic product in the eurozone by 0.3%. However, GDP did not change in the first quarter and grew by 0.2% during the same period in the European Union countries as a whole.
As for Italy, it showed a 0.3% drop, after recording an 0.6% increase in the first quarter. GDP of Germany remains unchanged after -1% recorded in the period from January to March. As for France, its GDP growth increased from +0.1% in the first quarter of the year to +0.5% in the second, while in Spain it fell from +0.5% to +0.4%.
Employment ratings in the eurozone show growth by 0.2%, while between January and March 2023 it was +0.5% – this data concerns both the eurozone and the EU as a whole.
