Exchange of hostages and prisoners between Israel and Hamas continues
Four Israeli female soldiers kidnapped by Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas on October 7, 2023, were handed over to the group to the International Red Cross at Palestine Square in Gaza City. After 477 days in Gaza, Hamas released four female soldiers on Saturday, January 25: Karina Ariev, Daniella Gilboa, Naama Levy, and Liri Albag. Apparently the four girls are doing well.
As soon as they got out of the Hamas vehicles, the militiamen took many pictures of the four girls and forced them up onto a stage set up in the square, from where they saluted, with forced smiles. The footage, broadcast live on Qatar’s Al Jazeera television channel, also showed Hamas militants and members of the International Red Cross signing documents on a stage set up in the square before the hostages were handed over.
According to the Times Of Israel newspaper, the four freed female soldiers were subsequently handed over to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and the Shin Bet security service in the Gaza Strip, which will take them back to Israel, where they will undergo their first medical examination.
