The US State Department described Secretary of State Anthony Blinken’s talks in China over the past few hours as “frank, meaningful, and constructive.”
Anthony Blinken wanted to emphasize the importance of diplomacy and the desire to keep channels of communication open. They are important for a wide range of issues, as they significantly reduce the risk of “misperception and miscalculation.”
US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller also explained that Blinken invited Chinese Foreign Minister Qin Gang to Washington DC to continue negotiations.
